Qualifications:
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Needs to be able to pass Enhanced background check with the Department of Health and Welfare.
• Cannot have been found guilty by a court of law for abusing, neglecting or mistreating others.
• Will need to have a valid Idaho driver’s license.
• Complete assigned trainings or proof of completion
• Interest in working directly with youth who have developmental disabilities and experienced trauma.
The Direct Care Staff will work directly with youth living at the home. The Direct Care Staff will plan and facilitate
activities and work with other members of the team to provide a safe, healthy living situation.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the daily schedule and provide structure
• Provide or arrange transportation when needed
• Provide a safe living environment and supervise youth
• Prepare regular and nutritious meals, according to menu.
• Perform routine housekeeping and deep cleaning
• Document youth self-administration of medications
• Documentation of daily activities, incidents and accidents and maintenance requests
• Knowledge of policy and procedures.
• Knowledge of emergency and disaster procedures.
• Knowledge and ability to comply with policy and procedures for safety including infection control
procedures, applications of universal precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective
equipment and handling of hazardous materials
Experience:
• Experience working with youth, knowledge of residential treatment facilities and programs for youth.
• Sufficient strength and mobility to move freely to assure safety of others.
• Experience and knowledge of safety concerns, how to assist in physical or verbal altercations, and how to handle
danger in case of an emergency.
• Professionalism and the ability to build working relationships with professionals and community members.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability and willingness to understand and follow written and verbal directions.
